ELC Welcomes Student Worker Meena Raman, Georgetown Class of 2020

Meena Raman (GU ’20) joins the English Language Center (ELC) as a Student Worker during her last semester in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown. Originally from New Jersey, Meena is excited by the prospect of helping students learn English while they experience American culture.

Work with the English Language Center was appealing to Meena because she wanted to find an internationally oriented position during her last semester at Georgetown. After finding the job via HoyaWorks, Meena has enjoyed working with the department’s friendly professors and administrative staff members in addition to students from around the world.

While being a student and working at the same time is no easy feat, Meena says it has helped her develop a good balance between her personal, professional and academic life. As she nears the transition to post-college life, Meena is excited for her new job at GAP Inc. in San Francisco, CA, where she will work in a rotation between merchandising, digital marketing, digital operations, and inventory management departments.

After several years of studies and living in Washington, DC, Meena strongly recommends that incoming and current students should take advantage of everything D.C. has to offer. And make sure to take a day trip or two to Shenandoah, VA, and other surrounding parks, after social distancing is lifted, of course!

Welcome, Meena!
